Wicked at the Apollo Victoria has been a London fixture since 2006, drawing on Gregory Maguire's novel to tell the story of how Elphaba and Glinda became the witches Dorothy would later meet. Stephen Schwartz's score has the kind of climaxes - 'Defying Gravity', 'For Good', 'Popular' - that audiences arrive humming. The Apollo Victoria's wide stage gives the dragon clock and the green-lit Emerald City the scale they need. Running time is roughly two hours and forty-five minutes with an interval. The production is suitable for ages seven and up.
