The protagonist of this novel is Daniel, a recently unemployed actor who will go to any length to support for his family. Mrs. Doubtfire teaches Daniel essential facts about fatherhood that he never expected to learn as his new alter ego begins to take on a life of her own.

Mrs. Doubtfire pulls together a group of some of the most outstanding performers from around the world to deliver an amazing theatrical experience. Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell wrote the book, while Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick wrote the original music and lyrics. Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick are most recognised for their work with John O'Farrell on "Something Rotten!" for which they received a Tony Award nomination. Jerry Zaks, who has four Tony Awards and is most known for his work on the musical "Hello, Dolly!," is the show's director. The scenic design made by David Korins, choreography done by Lorin Latarro, and music supervision offered by Ethan Popp all contribute to the play's creative abilities.

Mrs. Doubtfire's touching and amusing story is a poignant and entertaining reminder of the necessity of holding to one's loved ones even in the face of misfortune.
